‘GRANDMA’S SECOND STORYBOOK’
Gracie is our only grandchild and she loves animals. In the cover photo taken by her Mom, our daughter, she is laying in the bathtub with her kitten, Walter, and her cell phone. Walter eventually disappeared and now she has three cats, Blue, Smokie and Motor.
This book is also dedicated to Gracie.
There are twelve poems in “Grandma’s Second Storybook” and it is not illustrated.
This is the first poem in this book.
‘A Pasadena Halloween’
The candy is scattered, all over the floors
Kids costumes are laying, near their bedroom doors
Now the pumpkins are quiet, candles flickering inside
While vampires and witches, are still trying to hide
The ghosts and the goblins, are still lurking about
Waiting and hoping, for the kids to come out
Gracie was dressed, in a kitty cat suit
Everyone said that she, looked very cute
Hailey was also, dressed up like a cat
She had ears on her head, instead of a hat
Now the girls are home sleeping, tucked safe in their beds
With dreams of the fun they had, and candy, in their heads
Dad is now snoring, sprawled out on the couch
The football game is over, his team lost, oh ouch!
And Mom is still busy, she hasn’t sat yet
With all the festivities, there’s no time to sit
She was dressed as a witch, when she went trick or treat
She didn’t look scarey, she really looked neat
She walked with the children, all over the hood
And drove them to Grandma’s, like she promised she would
So now the nights over, the pillow, it calls
Hope your evening was frightful, Happy Halloween to all…..
