‘MY SECOND COLLECTION OF WORDS’

This book is an extension of ‘My Collection of Words’.  The picture on the cover I took at a rest stop somewhere on I-40
likely in Arizona.

There are sixty poems in ‘My Second Collection Of Words’ and this is the first poem.

If I Were To Hide In Your Pocket’

If I were to hide in your pocket
Would that put me right over your heart
Could I stay tucked away
For a sad lonely day
Ad then cheer you with my little part?

If I were to hide in your pocket
Would you giggle if there I would hide
If I just made you smile
When I hid there awhile
Would it cheer you and warm you inside?

If I were to hide in your pocket
Would it help you make it thru the day
If I stayed very quiet
And not cause any riot
‘Cept to giggle as we go our way?

If I were to hide in your pocket
Would it help you to know I was there
Every now and again
Pat your pocket and then
You would know how much I really care?
